On your Person:

1 - A complete BDU uniform including camouflage cap, Hiking or jungle boots. (T) Other uniforms may be defined later.

2 - Note pad and pencil. (T)

3 - CAP Identification, including 101 & 101T cards, 76 card, first id card etc. (T)

4 - Watch. (T)

5 - Handkerchief or tissues. (T)

6 - Comb or hair brush, if needed. (T)

7 - Vest, orange reflective.

8 - Signal mirror.

9 - Whistle.

10 - Pocket/multi purpose knife (blade less than 6")

 

Survival Gear:

1 - First aid kit (store in zip lock bag). 2 antiseptic cleaning pads, antiseptic ointment, 6 band-aids, moleskin 2"x4", roller bandage, 2 safety pins, 4 gauze pads, 1 triangular bandage, first aid tape, 2 pr. rubber gloves. (T)

2 - Any personal medication (your team leader must know what you have and where it is). (T)

3 - Duck tape 5-10 ft. wrapped on a stick. (T)

4 - Large leaf bag.

5 - 12 wooden, water proof matches in water proof container. (T)

6 - 1 chem. light stick. (T)

7 - 50' nylon line, cut into 4 pieces. (para cord or similar) (T)

 

SAR Equipment:

1 - Change of socks. (T)

2 - Flagging tape small roll.

3 - Flashlight with red and/or blue lens with spare bulbs and batteries. (T)

4 - Spare flashlight. (T)

5 - Insect repellant (optional).

6 - Lip balm (optional).

7 - Sunscreen (optional).

8 - Tissue paper. (T)

9 - Leather work gloves. (T)

10 - 4 moist towelettes. (T)

11 - Change for pay phone/cell phone.

12 - 2 meals. (T)

13 - Snacks for 1 meal (granola bars, hard candy, jerky, trail mix etc. (T)

14 - Shelter 8'x10' (tarp or spare military poncho meets this need) (T)

15 - Poncho.

16 - Coat for expected climate. (T)

17 - Canteen(s) 2 quarts minimum, with at least 1 quart on belt (i.e. easy to get). (T)

18 - Compass pouch with compass.

 

72 Hour Pack:

The 72 hour pack is for overnight training and missions. It includes the 24 hour pack plus:

1 - Backpack with frame. (T)

2 - 5 meals, plus snacks. (T)

3 - 2 large leaf bags. (T)

4 - waterproof bag with a spare uniform and 3 changes under ware and socks. (T)

5 - Sleeping pad, foam.

6 - Spare boot laces.

7 - Sewing kit.

8 - Toilet kit: tooth brush and paste, deodorant, washcloth and soap. (T)

9 - Sleeping bag for expected climate. (T)

10 - Rain ware.

11 - Water purification tablets.

12 - Entrenching tool.

13 - Toilet paper.

14- Metal cup (hot Chocolate)
