| Martin will be a senior escort to four CAP cadets from around the country for three weeks. Martin's group will leave on July 15 and return August 4. In all, 17 countries will participate in the exchange. Martin says his group will be guests of the Netherlands Air Force and Aero Club. "It allows cadets from all over the world to share and experience other cultures," said Martin. "These are the cream of the crop from CAP cadets." Martin is no stranger to this activity, he was a former CAP cadet who attended the cadet exchange in 1969 by traveling to Norway, and as a senior escort in 1996 for France. "We need to cement these kids early," said Martin. "These young people are going to be our leaders in the future. It will be a great experience, spending three weeks traveling to military bases, aerospace industries, and seeing culturial sites." Martin is a pilot who builds and flies several experimental aircraft. He is a former squadron commander for the Clarksburg unit. He and his wife Linda, live near Salem, WV. |
